Uncommon Parade

What’s better than a bike parade?  A GEEK bike parade, that’s what. The Commons Hotel of Minneapolis invited us to bike and shoot this short. A great way to spend an afternoon.

Rhinos Unite

The Rhino Rally is an annual endurance mountain biking event that raises money to support families impacted by cancer.  We shot, edited and animated this short to show our Rhino spirit.

Stone Arch Bridge Festival Web Site

Our friends at W Marketing invited us to assist in creating a web site for the new Stone Arch Bridge Festival in Minneapolis. We assisted with the logo, developed site graphics and built a custom WordPress site (complete with facebook and twitter feeds) that can be edited in a flash!

Vintage Stylings

Starting a new company isn’t exactly “easy.”  But – creating an online presence for your company can be. When The Vintage Type was born, they called on Smitty’s Workshop to, first, capture photography of some of their vintage event rental inventory.  A single day of shooting with some great natural lighting yielded a portfolio of shots that capture the refined charm of their collection.  We then partnered with The Vintage Type to create their new web site  http://vintagetyperentals.com/ to show off their style and allow them to communicate to their audience.  Their site includes a blog and sorted inventory portfolio pages – and, is simply edited via WordPress.

Power Summit

Power Summit is a one-of-a-kind retreat and workshop for students 10th grade through their first year in college.  Organized by Celeste’s Dream and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, Power Summit brings together young adults for a 4-day exploration of peace, organizing and world ecological renewal with featured speakers, community outreach and personal development activities.  Celeste’s Dream has partnered with Smitty’s Workshop to create posters, bookmarks and web communications to build awareness and drive attendance.

Join This Movement

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet have active ministries across the U.S., Japan and South America. Their marketing team in Saint Paul, MN looked to Smitty’s Workshop to create a unifying image that could speak to and for all of their ministries and capture the essence of their roots in 17th century France and their mission focusing on relationships between God, people and Earth.

meeting planning made simple

Our friends at Mighty Dog Media looked to Smitty’s Workshop to design the web site and user interface for their online meeting supplier directory at meetingpages.com.  The site features a robust database search tool, custom tiered profiles for featured suppliers and a great assortment of editorial content.  Monthly email marketing to suppliers and meeting planners drives consistent visitors to this awesome resource.

Celebrating Heritage

Saint John’s University alumni rallied support to create an on-campus Heritage Hall and Lounge.  Smitty’s Workshop worked with University alumni, administration and design committee members to bring it to life. Large format prints, didactic information, QR mobile content, WordPress touch screen kiosks and digital signage were woven into high-traffic Sexton Commons to bring the great stories of Saint John’s to visitors, students and all in the Saint John’s community.

Performing Artists

It has been our pleasure to work with the folks at Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists for the past few years.  Our recent projects – a video (below), an annual report, web site and sign system for their new Lehr Theater – have helped to build a synchronized brand presence that positions this unique charter school to sustain its incredible growth and development as one of Minnesota’s best arts schools.  We highly recommend this school for budding performers.
