It has been our pleasure to work with the folks at Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists for the past few years. Our recent projects – an annual report, web site and sign system for their new Lehr Theater – have helped to build a synchronized brand presence that positions this unique charter school to sustain its incredible growth and development as one of Minnesota’s best arts schools. We highly recommend this school for budding performers.

Customer creative workshops, a re-polished logo, a new headline and photography from around the world were utilized in the re-branding project Smitty’s Workshop conducted for MSpace. The three ads above were all displayed simultaneously in different areas of the busiest concourse at MSP International Airport to bring the MSpace brand to business travelers.
Capital City Partnership (CCP) is another of Smitty’s Workshop’s oldest clients. For nearly 10 years, Smitty’s Workshop has provided design, photography and branding services to this outstanding organization. Their annual report, shown above, and also available HERE, is a showcase of great things happening in Minnesota’s Capital City – and chock full of photography and Smitty design. Our hats off to the CCP staff who have worked tirelessly over the last decade to plan, develop, market and promote Saint Paul!
Smitty’s Workshop has worked with Morrissey Hospitality Companies on many start-up projects. We partnered with MHC to develop their HeadWaters Cafe concept, located in the concourse of Saint Paul RiverCentre. From initial architectural consulting and point of sale/menu design, to their consistent integrated print, sign, web and email marketing campaigns, Smitty’s Workshop has helped MHC build another incredibly successful brand.
Over the past few years Smitty’s Workshop has volunteered countless hours to assist branding and marketing efforts to build momentum for The Saint John’s University Alumni Association. Our great friend, Father Bob Koopmann, President of Saint John’s University, helped with the soundtrack in this video–part of an integrated campaign of print, web, email and social media that resulted in a SOLD OUT Johnnie Stand Up at Target Field.

The Hotel Minneapolis hired Smitty’s Workshop to design and produce an internal communications tool that would engage their employees in the back-of-the-house and expose them to key brand concepts. Smitty’s Worksop worked within existing THM brand standards and created the custom map illustration. This piece was fabricated out of magnet wall material to allow both human resources updates and employee contributions.
Smitty’s Workshop is very active with the Saint John’s University Alumni Association. With the aim of building brand awareness for the Association and promoting the www.sjualum.com web site, we worked with the Institutional Advancement team at SJU and Association volunteers to create a series of portable banner graphics that are used at both indoor and outdoor events – both on campus and off. Saint John’s has a strong established set of graphic standards we used as springboard for this work.
Helping clients define their brand creative is an exciting and important process at Smitty’s Workshop. Whether we create a new logo from scratch, polish an aging mark, or bring a client’s brilliant idea to life, our aim is to illuminate our client’s brand in its best light.

Wildside Caterers looked to Smitty’s Workshop to update their corporate branding. A “polishing” of the Wildside logo (created by Smitty’s Workshop when Wildside first began operations nearly 10 years earlier) was combined with “The Art of Catering” moniker and a collection of photographs to quickly communicate the Wildside brand in print advertising, exhibit displays and corporate brochures.

For our friends at MSpace we developed an identity for their Vegas Night client event. Invitations were sent both through direct mail and email. It was a BLAST!

WinterSkate is an outdoor ice skating rink organized each winter by Capital City Partnership and Culture, Inc. of St. Paul, MN. Smitty’s Workshop devised the debut logo and branding system for the project which spans print and web advertisements, street pole banners across downtown St. Paul, and on-site directional and promotional signs. This project is extra fun because most of it happens outside.
Smitty’s Workshop created a new identity for the “Waking Up – Spirit & Action” series organized by Celeste’s Dream and the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Carandolet. The illustration has gone on to become the logo for the Celeste’s Dream program and their many efforts.

meetingpages provides both an online search tool and a directory-style listing of all of the suppliers in their extensive data base. Our friends at House Dressing Company (HDC) practice the art of home remodeling. They’ve lived through over 30 restorations (yes, they lived in those homes while they were fixing them up.) When they work on client projects, they’re more like “personal contractors” than just general contractors.

Smitty’s Workshop was hired to conduct a complete re-branding project with House Dressing Company as they prepared to reorganize their operations. The HouseDressingCompany.com site incorporates video testimonials (conducted and produced by Smitty’s Workshop), a custom Javascript gallery, home page animation and a customized WordPress “What’s New” blog. Check it out HERE.
